Ozonation

Gohh it's stinky but I love it!
PS - DON'T INHALE - is the name of the Ozonation Game.

In 1896, Nicola Tesla patented his first ozone generator, later he then sold ozone machines and ozonated olive oil.  For years, thereafter, ozone was credited as having a plethora of amazing health benefits, and utilized successfully in a whole host of treatments - from diabetes to cancer.  However, in 1933 the AMA set out to get rid of ozone as a therapy.  (Great timeline)

Ok so that’s why you don’t hear about it,

What is it?

Ozone is the unstable form of oxygen.  2 molecules of oxygen make it stable, 3 makes it have a pungent smell and highly reactive.  It is naturally occurring in the upper stratosphere, and it’s created here in the troposphere mainly through pollution.

Wait, so if it’s made through pollution, Kate, how is that GOOD for me?

Well you should never inhale it!  However, when you capture it or combine it with oils, it has a number of amazing disinfecting properties, and a whole host of therapeutic benefits.

So how would I use it?

1. Water

I have the Therasage O3 Bubbler that I use all the time to clean my vegetables and make ozonated water to use as a mouth rinse, or clean any cuts that I get.  This machine has been one of the least expensive and best purchases - with so many uses-  that I’ve made.

2. IV Ozone therapy

Basically, they take your blood, then mix it with ozone and inject it back into your body.  It's used for many diseases- chronic infections, arthritis, cancer, lupus, and more. It strengthens the immune system, stimulates white blood cells, kills fungi, bacteria and viruses. It also helps remove toxins and heavy metals.

3. Oils, pills, and suppositories

Different oils can hold different concentrations of ozone.  For example, from least concentrated to the most:

Coconut, castor, jojoba, avocado, olive, sunflower, hemp.

These oils can be used for oil pulling, topically, in the form of a pill, as well as in suppositories.

Oil pulling we all know about- so if you have any canker sores, inflammation in your mouth, or just for general oral hygiene - it’s amazing.

I am curious to try the pills- you can take them orally and it helps with stomach and GI issues.

Lastly, and honestly my favorite- suppositories.  I know it sounds so strange, but I have seen such a difference in my health when I use them!

I first purchased the suppositories, a year ago, and much like when I purchased my first enema kit… I stared at it for about a month, thinking… am I REALLY going to do THAT?  And in just the same way, once I used it- I thought - OMG THIS IS AMAZING- I should have used this sooner!

I purchased the Olive oil suppositories, they are ‘middle of the road’ in concentration, and they say, a good place to start.

You can either use them vaginally or rectally (I said that).

When and why would you do either?

Vaginally- as a surfer, many times we ladies get bacterial vaginosis. I mean, surfing in Bali and Costa Rica you think it’s clean.. buut if you don’t drink the tap water in one of these countries... it's a good idea to do some prevention.

So, it’s a great solution if you have a yeast infection or when you’re not ‘feeling right’ down there.

I recommend inserting it at night, before bed and using a pad, so it doesn’t get messy.

Rectally- After I do a coffee enema (in the morning), I will put one in when I go to sleep. It increases the blood flow and oxygen locally, killing overgrowth of certain bacteria, and (is it strange that) I sleep so much better!?  Like I wake up I feel really well rested, clear headed, and more energetic!  Note- don’t be surprised if you have strange things that come out with your morning BM.

What products do you recommend?

This is not a paid advertisement, I don’t get any money from them, I’m just sharing what I use and I love the company, PureO3.

Their products are super clean, no additives, allow for flexibility of use and product concentration.

I just ordered their ozonated oil pills, so I’m excited to see how those go.

Have any of you tried ozonation before? How did it go!?
